Kia brought a heavily Audi-esque concept to this year’s Detroit Auto Show featuring a 2.0-liter turbo four banger powering the rear wheels.
That mill makes 315 hp and directs those ponies through a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. The Concept rides on a “custom chassis” that leaves the car with less length than a Forte sedan and wider than a Cadenza. Its face looks as if it were lifted and re-sized from an Audi R8 to Kia’s imaginary new toy. From the right angle, it looks like the rear quarter panels were puled straight from an A5 while the sloping butt seems reminiscent of an A7.
It’s a light little thing, too. Kia claims a curb weight of 2,874 lbs, which tips the scales hundreds lighter than the real-world Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a 2.0-liter turbo. But this concept isn’t based on Hyundai’s affordable sports coupe.
